error message

I have an HP running windows xp. I had to use my restore CDs because of a crash. When the installation is complete the machine will not boot and the error message I get is "error customer care configuration" check your warrenty. Can i do anything without having to contact HP's tech support?

It sounds like there is an underlying hardware issue. It could be overheating or the hard drive may be failing.

"Crash" doesn't really tell the story very well. What prompted the reload? Please be specific.
