    Question owners man.

     
    need owners man. pc is used and no booklet came with it. I am a Mac user and have no idea what to do with this pc it is an emachines W3107 desktop pc with microsft windows XP home edition w/sp2 preinstalled. I now have an older mac 9.0. Is this pc better? Is it worth changing over from mac to pc.

    If you are used to a Mac, Windows is going to be a really steep learning curve. Fetch a copy of Windows XP for Dummies at your local library for a quick start.

    With Windows, security needs to be foremost in your mind. Always run a current and updated antivirus program. If this PC has one, fine. If not, here is a good free one:

    AVG Free - Download AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition for Windows XP and Vista

    Spyware is different from viruses. Protecting against this is becoming even more important than viruses. AVG does a decent job with it, but a paid program like Counterspy is recommended:

    MCSE, MCP and nut job
