dell inspiron 6000 won't start

power light comes on but screen doesnt respond. if i hold fn button and the power button.... lock lights come on the one with the letter "A" blinks repeatedly

after several hours i pressed fn+hibernate(button) while powering on and there was a display but my screen is broken (i use external monitor to view display) so i couldnt see what was on screen

even still it did nothing
so i turned it off again and it went back to not responding

any clue what the issue is???

i have tried unplugging and use just battery and then just the adapter no difference

also have removed memory and no difference

oh and it did the same the day before
but i pushed fn+standby and it started fine
but the next day it wouldnt start again

Did you try unplugging it an removing he battery to reset it?

Why did you remove the memory? How would that help? No PC will start without memory in it.

Run the diagnostics. If you are unable to run the diagnostics from the hard drive, you can download this diagnostic program that will run from a USB flash drive. You just need to set your system to boot from a USB device in the BIOS.
