Im considering buying an acer aspire 5930 with the following specs:

My problem is that ive heard of problems with other Acer laptops especially with there Fans either being to noisy to begin with or having a lifespan of about 8 months before they start to wear down. Since this is a relatively new model i could really use some advice on how accurate those rumours are? Also since im planning on using the laptop for gaming id like to know what kind of performance i can expect from the above specs (my computer knowledge is 2 or 3 years out of date)
