Just tryed unplugging everything but the main hdd the mobo and the graphics card I’m sure you can imagine what the out come was. I got the psu that I listed earlier in the post, It was the one I was recommended by the shop who sold me the graphics card as the had the same model on the shop floor with to 8800 gts in sli running off it so you would of thought it would have been able to hack the 260 gtx. So that leaves two possibilities. Ether the mobo has some weird problem with the card. Or the card really is dead and the shop I got it from lied to me about it working. Ether way I’m going back tomorrow and demanding to see the manger and explaining what happened. Because if its not the psu at all and it’s a dead card they can take their psu back as well.

Do they perform repairs? If so, let them try making it work.

No they don't do repairs as there basically just a big storgae place that runs an online shop, but they have a small front for customers who don't wana pay the postage |

What's the model of your motherboard? Sometimes you need a BIOS update to run the newer GPU's. Have you checked into that yet? |

Its an abit dark raider ip35. I did update the bios yes using the tool that came with the motherboard. The bios is only dated 05/08 which is latest version but thats before the geforce 200 series was released so that could be an issue.
I've sent a email to abit but they haven't got back to me yet.

Like the others, I believe it's a problem with the video card. That's BS that they wont let you see it actually "running" in a system.
Talking to the manager is a great idea. I would also demand to see your video running in their system and if they refuse, demand a refund or exchange.

Yes it is looking like the card is dead. I'll go back tommorow and see what they say. I'm gona be cheacky and say to the manger that because i've been messed around so much i should recive an upgrade, see if i can get a 280 out of em, but somehow i think not.
If they'll only exchange i'll try and get one from a diffrent company as the one i have now is a gainward and i've had issues with their customer suport. They have always got back to me but as they are a german company the english used is sometimes a little confusing.
Ether way i'll post tommorw with results with what ever new card i end up with. |

If your 8800gts ran fine before on that PSU I see no problem with it handling the 260gtx | No thanks to me for predicting itsince the start?
Glad to hear you got it fixed though
