Thanks for the interjection JPMiller but I'm being truthfully honest when I say that I don't know how to go about getting the PSU or basic specs that is needed to give you a better clue as to what's going on with my computer. And can tell you that my monitors do work though. Please consider me computer illiterate and tell me how to perform this task and I'll get it and feed it to you.
Open up your computer and type off what it says on the sticker that should be on your power supply (usually at the top/rear of your case). You should see a manufactuer name there among other useful bits of information such as the output wattage.
