Toshiba Satellite sound driver

I recently reinstalled windows xp on my toshiba satellite and found all the drivers for it. For some reason though, the sound driver won't install. The only thing I can think of is that Toshiba recently updated the sound driver for my model. Would that be the reason it won't install or am I completely on the wrong track?

I can find P100, but I cannot find it in combination with SD300E.

You have to unzip those and run Setup from the folder. Is that what you did?

Unzipped and ran the setup and it starts to install and says 'driver installation failed: could not find the media device for this driver'

Let's backtrack. What prompted you to reinstall Windows?

Is sound enabled in BIOS setup?

how do I check if sound is enabled. Is that F2?

I don't own one. You will have to tell me. F2 is not unusual.
