Hello,
I'm a Sophomore in High School who made his own computer, and, with a high schooler's budget, some things I bought were cheaper than others. Even after I saw the reviews for the case (which came with a PSU) that I bought saying it would die within a few months (from a few commenters), I bought it anyways. This was from Newegg, by the way.
I bought a Xion "X" Case, and I've been using it for oh, maybe about 7 months now? But it won't boot anymore. I'm sure it has to do with it, and I know it wasn't the best "treatment", but I am forced to pull my power cable out everytime to get the computer to boot properly. That in itself is probably a malfunction that came with the PSU when I first got it. If I do not unplug the Cable, windows will freeze in the middle of booting. I thought it had to do with my own installing of drivers incorrectly, but just now I realized it was probably the PSU's fault this whole time.
So if I get no beeps, any signs of boot at all (monitor light stays "dormant") other than my hard drive spinning (or was it my CD Drive?), then is it a bad PSU?
I would get you a DxDiag, but obviously I can't boot on that computer. I think the CPU is still in great condition, it's an AMD Black Series 2.1GigaHertz (I think) Dual Core. I did not want to void the warranty so I did NOT overclock it.
Thanks for any insight TIMO might have!
