pc goes off

When i start my PC it works well but after 1-2 hours sometime after half an hour it goes off. the monitor screen goes black but the led on monitor and front of CPU remain on. The fan of CPU and smps are also off.when i again start it but cant able to do. after aprox 10 minutes it able to start. my processor is dual core2 2.66GHzand D946 motherboard. the bios temperature of cpu at starting is around 63c.i tried to shot the jack of smps by connecting with wire to chek and it was ok.what should i do? please suggest me.. This is assembled pc.

For an idle startup temp hat is way to damn hot! Is this a custom built pc or an OEM (hp, dell ect) You might try removing the h/s & fan and reseating with new thermal paste, the h/s might nott be making good contact with the cpu.

this is assembled pc....(cpu+mobo-intel; HDD-seagate; RAM-xeon;PSU-zebronics; monitor-lg).....what u mean by h/s?

what kind of environment do you have this PC in? you may have to make sure it's getting plenty of cool air or even add more fans to the tower. do this too much and you'll fry it.

restart during login

when i was installing nokia pc suit it interrupted and turned off after then whenever i login it restart again n again. any idea except format. working good in safe mode.

its room temperature here. and one fan on chesis is already working. is my psu(p4- ATX) is ok?

Your BIOS has a temp threshhold that will shut down the computer if it gets too hot. What is the threshhold?
