Hidden files

Recently i got a virus on my computer (It was something like r318.bat/clko.exe) i couldn't see any hidden files and couldn't properly access my harddrives.

AVG Virus removed the files and i removed the autorun.inf from all my drives and it says it's clean but when i select 'show hidden files' it still wont show them. AVG is up to date and everything seems back to normal, so im stumped.

Does Anyone know what i should do?

It's probably still contaminated. AVG is far from perfect. Get this:

Avira AntiVir Rescue System

Open it and it will create a bootable CD. Boot from it and use the spacebar to select English.

I wish.

We've had really good luck with it here and at another site which will remain unnamed.

I think Roost means that due to the insecurity of Windows, Antivirus companies give Gates money for keeping it that way.
At least my interpretation.

I've been caught in the "scan trap" too many times.

Scan in Windows - cannot delete file.

Scan in Safe Mode - cannot delete file.

Create UBCD4Win CD and finally get the bugger. 2-3 hours wasted.

Scan once with that CD and you get everything first pass. Nothing else makes sense anymore.
