Question
MOBO K7SOM Problems with additional GraficAdapter

HELP.
I have a K7SOM Mobo with a Graficcard onBoard.
I tried to install the 3DProphet 2 MX from Hercules under Windows2K. First it startet in the standard VGA-Mode with no Probs. After i'd install the Hercules drivers successfully and i'd reboot the system, windows2k hangs up at the loading screen!

Isn't that card running with Win2K ???
What Geforce card (PCI) i can use with this MOBO ???
Pls help !!!

You might need to disable the onboard video in the BIOS.

Make sure you have updated drivers for the motherboard as well. Such as the chipset.

Might also want to check the Microsoft Hardware Compatability List to make sure the card is supported. It's good for everything else as well.

This says the 64MB, AGP version is supported.

Go into your bios and look for something like "features".
disable the onboard graphics and reboot.
this is probably the problem.
Just a suggestion.

Well the problem is that this BIOS and MB dont allow to disable the onboard video... they say... well then you can use two monitors.... yeah right... If u can make them work!
But the question is: a BIOS issue can stop XP loading in the middle of the process? or should happen as soon as the machine boots?

THX/////
