| Need some help finding webcam drivers
I have this cheap Chinese webcam and I can't find any drivers for it. There is no model number - all it says is 'firstline' When I connect it to my computer (windows xp pro) it detects it as a 'USB camera' I had the driver cd, but I must have thrown it out, thinking that I could easily find the driver on the web - I was wrong. I have googled many terms but haven't found anything, I also tried to find generic webcam drivers without much luck. This is a last ditch effort to find a solution, if anyone here can find a driver I will be amazed and very thankful. |

I bought a "Firstline" webcam from Carrefour in China and brought it back to Brazil and I've lost the disk!
Could somebody help me find the drive?
Xp does not pick up it, and I don’t have a model or part number!!
Many thanks in advance!!
Luiz
P.S.> Firstline is a Carrefour brand!

u can download the universal driver!
all webcam solutions here in china almost whole world r provided by vimicro,u can dowload the official driver by click: Vimicro support and select a last update~
all drivers provided with cams r based on that, just add some special effects sometime~

i had tried those ones previously but they didn't work, now i'm interested in somehow manually assigning windows xp usb video class drivers to the webcam.
They're used with many driverless webcams, and maybe this one is driverless. I remember how I previously plugged it in, and windows installed it by itself - this doesnt happen anymore obviously.
I noticed that in device manager the camera appeared in 'other devices' with a yellow excamation mark. I downloaded UVCview and here is an extract from the diagnostic:
===>Interface Descriptor<===
bLength: 0x09
bDescriptorType: 0x04
bInterfaceNumber: 0x00
bAlternateSetting: 0x00
bNumEndpoints: 0x03
bInterfaceClass: 0xFF -> Vendor Specific Device
bInterfaceSubClass: 0xFF
*!*CAUTION: This appears to be an invalid bInterfaceSubClass
bInterfaceProtocol: 0xFF
*!*WARNING: must be set to PC_PROTOCOL_UNDEFINED 0 for this class
iInterface: 0x00
*!*ERROR: 0xFF is the prerelease USB Video Class ID
Hopefully that means something to someone, but I doubt it. What I'm trying to figure out now is how to assign usb video class drivers to an unknown webcam that is not digitally signed. Does anyone know how to do this in windows xp? |
