    Randoom Shut Downs

    Hello to All.

I've been having this problem for quiet a while now.
What happens is my system shuts down say ranging from 1-10min, 10-20 min from booting up and also from 1 -4 hours from booting up.

what happens is the system restarts in a blink and it doesn't load up. what i have to do is shut it down holding the power key, wait few min and hopefully it would load back up.

now this has been happening for past week..i formatted my drive..installed fresh copy of xp..update with sp3 and everything was going fine for the first day. On the second day of fresh start the same thing started happening again.

In some cases i successfully loaded up my system and got the option of sending error report which brings me to ''Blue Screen of Death - Error caused by Device Driver''

    Microsoft Windows Error Reporting

now i have followed the 1st few steps and had a look through the events and there were a lot of cases where Device/CdRom0 was involved, too much actually so i think that might be causes the problem. i would try to fix this but the problem is that i have 2 cd-rom's and im not sure which one is cdrom0 and it doesn't say anywhere which one is it.

i don't know if anyone is particular with this error or this region of tech support but i would appreciate any help since its almost impossible to use the computer.

apologies for my spelling English is not my native language.

    Thank you

    EDIT:

Ok after reading few threads with same type shut down problem..i went to system and i unchecked the automatic shutdown box, so that should fix the automatic restart. but could anyone still help me out with cdRom0 problem that causes the blue screen.

It sounds like the PC is overheating. Get a can of compressed air, open the case and blow the dust out of it. If it's a laptop, you have to find the cooling intake and blow air through that while it's running.
