Reformatting help

I just reinstalled Windows XP on my PC, and I cant seem to figure out how to get a connection to the internet

More info is needed: What type of connection do you have? Cable, DSL or dial-up. once we know that we can give you general directions on how to get that going again.

Usually your service provider gives you a disk that you can use to set up your connection to them.

Are your drivers all installed? What kind of a computer is it? Is it a boxed computer or a home build? If its a Dell, HP, Compaq, Gateway, etc. you should have had restore discs that automatically installed the drivers needed for that model. For something that was a "whitebox" or home build you need to install the drivers that either came with your network card or your motherboard (for onboard LAN)

Cable (coax) into modem...CAT 5 or 6 from the modem directly to PC. Make sure your newtork driver is installed be it onboard or a PCI card.
