Internet connection is fine. Able to download definitions updates, AOL IM works too. This is happening on my daughter's computer which is running XP Home Edition with all updates. IE quit working the other day, so I uninstalled it, reinstalled and everything worked. This morning, she tried to run it and once again it wouldn't work. The program would load, go through bthe motions of loading her homepage and then the prompt that Internet Explorer cannot open website. Diagnose the internet connections, which show no problem. Did notice that when I would click on the IE icon, the program would load twice, but both windows showed the same info.
Did the uninstall.reinstalllike before, but this time it doesn't work. Right now I'm running kaspersky on full system scan. I noticed that she had turned off the auto-protection. Maybe something, but I've done thismyself because Kaspersky can make it impossible to access such harmless sites as my Netflix account, so I temporarly disable it. Britt has done the same. She's pretty computer safe aware. Anyway, I am looking at some form of malware to fix the problem. Anyone come across anything like this.?
