Trying to Fix my router. Please help!

Well I have had my router for a littler over a year.
Recently power and everything went out for a week and Since than I can't access the internet on my 2nd desktop and my router will not work
I'm using a BEFSR41 4 port router.

I do not know how to reconfigure my router. And after calling Linksys for help they want $40.00...lol thats outrageous.

So I was wondering how I may reconfigure my router so my downstairs desktop can have internet. Only way I can access it is from my modem hooked to one of my desktops.

And sorry I dont know alot about routers im a noob

What do you mean that the router "doesn't work"? Does it still light up when you plug it in? If it does, try resetting it by pressing the tiny reset button on the back of it.

Otherwise, chances are the power outage you experienced might've fried it.

you might want to try reseting the modem too. I don't know why but sometimes that will solve router problems.

I Have fixed it. Thank you guys very much. I just had to reset my modem and my router. thanks everyone
