| New Build Won't Boot
First of all, this is my first post so I'll say hi to you all now.
Ok so Im building a computer for a friend and when I completed the build, pressed power and powered up for about 2-4 sec, then pwr down, then up then down, then finally up and held. Second problem is, no video sent to the monitor when finally stays on, and no beeps.
Specs:
MOBO: ASUS M3N-HT DELUXE
CPU: AMD PHENON X4 9850 QUAD CORE
PSU: OCZ 800 w
RAM: 2X 2GB CORSAIR DDR-1066
HDD: WD 1TB 32MB CACHE SATA II
ASUS 20X DVD COMBO
VIDEO: 2X EVGA 9800 GT 512MB
SOUND: CREATIVE X-FI TITANIUM
So what the hell? I think its just a bad mobo, but i am running out of time and need to make sure i exchange the right hardware. My IT guy at work suggested that the video cards were the issue, causing IRQs however i removed everything from the case, except mobo, cpu and HD, RAM. Did a CLRTC, and pwred up fine but still with no video.
i said ok well power is staying consistant so it must be another hardware issue. i then plugged in the DVD, turned on and went back to doing the original thing. unplugged the DVD, CLRTC'd the board, plugged in 1 video card, pwr on and same issue.
This has to be mobo, but do you think I need to replace CPU too?
Please help.
Thanks |

there should be no reasin why you need a new cpu. If it doesn't work you would get a message saying cpu failure or similar.
you might want to try a new mobo. even another asus would work, asus is one of the best by my opinion. |

Usually when the computer powers itself on for 2-4 seconds and automatically shuts down, that should mean the CPU's heatsink isn't seated and secured properly enough. |
