How do you format a usb memory stick before you download a file? Thanks

You shouldn't have to format the drive. You are leaving out a bunch of info
Brand name drives often have manufacturer-supplied software for formatting. Drives that don't can normally be formatted with FAT or FAT32 manually.
Answer these questions.
Windows or Mac?
Brand-name or generic drive?
Paid-for or freebie demo drive?
Secured drive?MCSE, MCP and nut job
