| Mobo Problem
Hi guys, i've had my computer a little less than a year and last night i installed a Thermaltake blue orb II CPU fan on it to fix some overheating issues i had with the stock one.
I've been building computers for a while and seen a lot, but i cant figure this one out: when i press the power button everything starts to turn on (the lights and such, the fans even spin a bit) then it all stops and i cant do anything untill i unplug the cord from the PSU and try again...but the same thing keeps happening. I have checked for shorts and all the wiring seems to be in order...i really dont know what to do now short of buying a new Mobo (i did detect its not the PSU by plugging it into a nother comp and testing it)
I have a Blood Iron P35 mobo, thermaltake Blue orb II PSU cooler and a Rosewell 600w PSU.
Thanks for any help,

Have a look at the CPU. You may not have it seated right. Also check things like the memory to make sure they are fully seated. Are you getting any beep codes at boot?

If everything halts, I'd worry about the PSU. Usually everything keeps going but doesn't do anything. One exception would be temps. If the CPU temp is too high OR the BIOS setting is too low, the unit shuts down.
Reset the CMOS and try again. |

Well there are some things that u can try before givin up, I guess. Ive been looking around an evern though you dont say whats the model of your PSU most of the Rosewill 600w have two lines of 12v that together provides 40A,the thing is that if you have a good graphic card it will "eat" from that line a lot. That PSU hasnt got - in its monitoring integrated circuit - an over power protection, but yes that it has got an over an under VOLTAGE protection an I read that in some testings it works like if it would have the opp(over power protection). Guess what it has to do: yes switch off!
The coolershares, so, the 12v line with your (eventual) graphic card.
Now, what I tell is that u can prove doing this:
1)look at thje conection of the blue orb, many poeolpe get confused with the cpu fan conector an the chasis fan one, the one that u have to use is the one of 3 pins.
2)look at the specs of PSU , the thermaltake, an eventually the graphic card , an especially at the A that they rewquire in that famous 12v line.
If nothing works, go to the site of the manufacturers, especially of Thermaltake, the last component, to chek compatibilitys among all of them.
Its hard work , but I hope it helps u find the problem!!
An please tell us if u can put it in order what the problem was, an how did u solve it, thanks! |

Reset your CMOS.
Take out your ram and then reinstall them. Did you have to pull the Mobo out to install the cooler? Check for loose screws, grounding out. |
