Windows XP 32-bit on a Dell made for Vista

Can somebody puhleeeze tell me how to get my dell inspiron 1521 (athlon 64x2) running Windows XP Pro 32-bit, to install the freaking VGA Controller drivers?
I have been all over the net, found the guy who promises the Omega Radeon will "substitute all the files miraculously", been to windows update, dell, ati,soft32, of course, I got nothin.
Getting pretty ticked. I don't need the frigging notebook to hold a conversation with me, I just want it to moan once in awhile. (I have NO sound) I've been told I can't install the audio drivers without the vga stuff first, so here I am.
Help??

What video card do you have?

Sounds like you took a laptop preloaded with Vista and did a rollback to XP. To my knowledge, that's a no-no. The hardware on the lappy is pretty much hardwired to Vista, that's why the driver problem.

Piece of cake, provided you have a legal XP license, i.e., not used on any other machine.

The I-1521 can use most of the drivers from the Latitude D531, so I've heard. I have performed this Dell forum search for "1521 + XP" that will return many threads that cover this question in more detail.
