I am trying to figure out whats wrong with my computer. As always my computer is working fine and dandy. I moved today so I placed the computer so it would fit comfortably and supported in my car. I bring my computer in from my drive and when I powered it up, it starts for half a second, gets a few spins on the fan and powers off.
So far I have tried cleaning the CPU making sure the processor was in place, cleaning the dust off everything, reseting my CMOS, unplugging and replugging everything, sometimes in different orders, and still nothing.
My specs are:
NVIDIA Geforce 7900
2x 2048 Corsair 800MHz 5-5-5-18 XMS2 DDR2 memory
Mother board - Asus M2N-SLI Duluxe
Segate 3200 hard drive (i think)
Power supply - Cooler Master 500 - AC output 110v-115v/220v-230v 50/60Hz
AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200+
I am going to buy a new power supply tomorrow and hope that solves it but the odd thing is, if I hold my reset button down and hit power OR unplug my 4 pin cpu connector, the computer will turn on but until I let go of the reset button or if my 4 pin connector is unplugged, turning off the power in the back. Also when the computer turns on, the fans just spin and nothing pops up on my monitor. It seems like my computer fans are working but everything else inside it isnt.
I cannot even get to my BIOS. Please help.
