lag issue

hi all i'm new here so easy on me!!!!

ok my prob. is that after i turn on the comp. for awhile it just react so slow. if i try to open a new program or folder it would takes about 3-5seconds for it to load. and when i play counter strike i keep getting hiccups (i haven't try other games).

I formatted my comp but it doesn't seem to help. All my drivers r up to date... so i was thinking its the video card or the ram? maybe hard drive? i want to get some opinions here first before i get new ram or video card...

CPU intel duo core 2 E6550 2.33ghz
2x1gbs pc2-5300 (2gb 677)
ati radeon x1050

Yep, its more than likely that you have lots of junk, and I mean lots. Also a very messed up operating system, because that computer is pretty fast when it comes to it - your graphics is a little lacking though but that makes no difference in anything non-related to gaming. I suggest just installing a fresh copy of your operating system - cleaning it up is gonna take an equally long time.

background? i have nada... but when i use convertxdvd program to convert... the lags r worst.... i dun know wuts causing da lag? yes i even formatted the HD and freshly installed everything again (twice) but still cant get rid of it. i tried everything that i possibly can already. U guys think its the video card? ram? or maybe the HD? or even O/s?

Thats strange. Its got nothing to do with any of those things you mentioned. I think it may be something wrong with your motherboard, because none of those things are really related - except the OS but thats out because of reasons you mentioned. It could be the HD. Do you have a spare?
