Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. I'm pretty good about keeping up with drivers and uninstalling old ones for this 7900GT. I opened the control utility and went to the temp tab and was remineded that it is part of nView, do I want to download it? When it took me to that page, I figured I might as well just download the latest drivers instead. I uninstalled the previous drivers and ran Driver Sweeper. I installed the new drivers with virus program disabled and everything seemed to go well. I looked in the control utility again for a temp but I still didn't see anything so I installed nView and I still don't see anything. I ran Everest which reported a "static" idle temp of 57 C on the GPU. The game I was running with the visual anamoly is Metal of Honor. I played for an hour or so and didn't notice anymore visual problems. I closed out the game and Everest was reporting 60C on the GPU. BTW, why am I not able to see the GPU temp through the nVidia graphics utility?
