When attempting to boot this laptop the three lights by the power button light up. then the one with the #9 stays on the one with the A and the one with the arrow flash The laptop will not boot up. Is this a cmos battery issue?
That is an LED code that will help you determine what is causing the computer not to boot. I don't remember exactly what it indicates (could be CPU or motherboard failure). I would call up or chat into Dell tech support and let them know what's up. I used to work for Dell, but thanks to the recent economy (Dell's stock got cut in half), they outsourced my job to India or somewhere. Let me know what they tell you; I might be able to help get things done with my knowledge of their system...
