Dell Laptop Modular Bay Not Detected

Dell Laptop Modular Bay Not Detected
I have had two alternating errors appearing on my screen at startup



First: The device in the system modular bay cannot be identified

Second: No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility.

I bought a new hard drive, thinking this was the problem. I have made sure that it is snug in there, but still, nothing... Dell's website is no help... Please help!
