Need clarification on PSU?

My psu is an Antec 480 tp2.

When it comes to the 2 12v PCIe power cables how does the amp balance work? If i'm only using one PCIe power cable does all the available amps across the two go to that one cable? I've got 18amps per PCIe cable and wanted to know if there's a way of combining the two? I started reading different things and now im confused and feel less informed than when I started.

Nope. And most probably not possible. Well, unless you have a graphics card with 2 PCIe power cable connections, then you can connect both rails to it at the same time and get a combination of the two. Other than that its going to be hard to find a single piece of hardware thats going to need any more than that..
