connecting parallel printer to usb port

How can I connect my HP 722C to my new computer running windows XP with only USB ports. (no parallel port)

I don't think you can as it doesn't have an available USB port. I ran into the same problem recently and I ended up having to buy a new printer that ran off of a USB connection.

Buy a PCI slot card with parallel port.

Use an Adapter

You can buy a Parallel Port to USB converter cable ~ $5 - $10. This allows bi-directional transfer of data from the printer via its parallel port to the new computer via one of its USB ports. Just make sure you get the right gender on the parallel side.

A PCI slot adapter is much more reliable than any USB adapter. Get the card.
