Question
help opening multiple Powerpoint sessions

Help! I support users who are running Office 2003. Several of them have indicated that they want to be able to open mulitple sessions of Powerpoint 2003 at once...Is there any way to do that other than buying the Powerslide software?

When one PowerPoint file is open, minimize it and right-click on another PowerPoint file's icon > Open With > Internet Explorer. Then, click Edit > Edit Slides and you're all set.

Please note that you may have to enable the menu bar in IE 7 by going to Tools > Menu Bar in order to see Edit.

Just use Open Office.

Openning a second Powerpoint presentation in internet explorer is useless if you want to copy things between the presentations. You're better off to download Open Office (OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite) and open you second one in OpenOffice Impress. That allows you to easily copy things between the applications. By the way, Impress does allow multiple instances (windows) unlike the limitation in Powerpoint after 2003.

Unfortunately not all of us are allowed to install anything on our pc's at work, I think that the IE option is a great idea
