Ford Mondeo Power Steering

I put some water in the power steering reservoir by mistake but the engine hasn't been on since then, and I syphoned the fluid and water out a few hours after the accident. I was wondering if syphoning alone would have removed all the water present in the reservoir, or would i have to bleed the hoses that connect to the pump also too. And also, I bought some PS Fluid from Halfords (their own brand) and I was wondering if is alright to use, because on my car manual it says you need WSA-M2C 195-A.

you did whatto your car?
ok, MY first reaction would be the same.
I'm not a specialist in this matter, but to be on the safe side I'd bleed the hoses.

Also I don't think it'll be a problem to use the fluid from halfords.
Brands always tell you to use their own stuff. while other stuff works as well.

Welcome to TechIMO!

I suggest taking it for a power steering system fluid flush.

About fluid type, AFAIK, Ford used to suggest using Mercon spec automatic transmission fluid to top off power steering for many of its models. However, if you want to go that route, call the parts department at your local Ford dealer to make sure it is compatible with your specific model.
