| No more music or films...
I try to keep my machine in good shape - defragged, cleaned, etc., - but I am unable to watch films or even listen to music any more. Windows Media Player either freezes or slows down to a point where it's ridiculous. I've been told that with my setup (including a relatively slow processor) I shouldn't be having these problems, but they exist anyway.
Setup: Intel Celeron @2400 MHz; Physical memory: 1280 MB; 2 HDs: 1) 41 GB, 30 GB available, 2) 400 GB, 344 avail. The HDs are not partitioned. I have about 50GB of music and films stored on the second drive. Windows XP, SP3.
Can anyone please help? Is the problem my processor (which would mean a new computer)? Is there more info you need to make an analysis?
Many thanks for any ideas, suggestions, etc. |

I wish I could make a connection with the installation of SP3, but unfortunately I can't. Process Explorer doesn't show any software eating up the CPU, and I usually shut down Firefox and other programs I'm not using. Is SP3 known to be a problem? |

1.Processor and/or Hard drives getting hot , check your cpu and add HD fan for your HD
2. Clean/fix your registry
2.Format your HD, if option no.1-2 not working
