canon eos20d problem

my canon eos 20d is showing an error code of "ERR CF" which i am guessing means card full (though this error code is not listed in my manual) not least as pressing the info button tells me that there are 0KB available. however both cards i use had plenty of capacity on them and i have since reformatted them, and the review button confirms there are no images recorded but the error code remains. i have also tried changing batteries and lenses but all to no effect. this fault developed after the camera had a very slight tumble of about 6" into floorboards, very minor i would have thought. has anyone else had this kind of problem and can anyone suggest what i could try? thanks for any helpful comments.

just to add to the above, i have contacted a camera repair shop who firstly advised a probably problem with the pins. i visually checked these and they look perfect. they then suggested a probably problem with a circuit board just under the rear cover, which sounds more likely but will cost me £120 to repair! if that is the problem.
anyone else had this problem?
