Photoshop, Major Installation Issues
To explain that topic title better, depending on what Version I try to
install, it has a different Error. Among the 4 I have tried, this is what
they do:
PS7= White Screen when running Setup
PSCS2= Install runs. Says it will install all files, including Shared
Components/Files and Photoshop. Error installing Photoshop after an
hour and installs only the Shared Components/Files.
PSCS3= Ditto.
PSCS4= Run Setup. Initializing Install... Setup has run into an Error.
Contact Adobe.
This all started when I had to Reformat my computer. Alongside this,
my MSN Messenger stopped wanting to install as well. To get the
Messenger working half assed, I had a friend send me his and I loaded a
file inside of the folder he gave me. I can't share files as far as I know.
Seems off subject, but it is related in a way. Camtasia was the same, but
reversed. It would constantly freeze before I reformated, and now it
works like a dream.
I have almost literally taken every action there is involved in getting
Photoshop to work apart from taking the already installed files from
someone else. I have Regsvr32'd the jscript.dll and vbscript.dll. I ran the
setup with every option and Windows XP SP 2 alongside Admin and
Admin CMD. Nothing works for the life of me. I have searched all over
the internet for a solution, but nobody seems to have this problem. I
have cleaned all my registry more than once. I tried to defrag, but after
12 hours it still didn't finish, which is not normal. Either my computer is
really F'd up and it needs to take that time to do it or it froze.
Are there any suggestions?

Just for clarity, where are you getting the installers from? Are they from legit install CDs from Adobe or downloaded from the Adobe site?

Basically just bumping the thread. I know it isn't off the first page, but I am sick of dealing with this. It's been like 6 months and I haven't been able to touch PS.

What do you intend to use the system for? You have PCI Express on that motherboard. But only a 300 Watt power supply. That will probably need an upgrade for any decent newer graphics card. Also, it...
