Sound only works offline?

My friend is having trouble with his sound. His sound works fine to play music on his computer, but when he trys to go on youtube and other online things, The sound does not. Can anyone help?

I think there may be some problem with the connection or speed of internet. A friend of mine too got a similar kind of sound issue but he got help form iYogi tech support.
