Hard Drive help

I wanted to ask if anyone could explain why my hard drive space is jumping all over the place, in the past 2 days its gone (in this order) from 75gb free space to 98gb to 88gb and now in the past hour 83gb. I havent installed or uninstalled anything nor downloaded anything. Does anyone know why this is happening because its very frustrating when it goes down by 15gb in one day for no apparent reason!

have you check system restore?,that can gobble up a lot of space

Ive deleted all but the most rcent restore point and its still only gone up by 2gb, not the 15 that has been lost somewhere...

Ok now its just gone up to 95gb! What is happening to this thing? please can someone help ?
