user profile in windows xp professional

i am using toshiba laptop that is connected to the domain controller in my my office.

i have printer, internet connection and some other devices at my home, each time when i come back from office i have change more settings like ip address and other things to work at home.

i heard one simple way to resolve this and save time, that is, to add another local Windows user profile to be slected at bootup. i don't know how to do this, so if any body can help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

How do you connect at home? Wifi? What OS is on the laptop? I have my Windows XP Pro work laptop and when I connect at home I don't have any problems. My laptop connects to the generic 198.162.1.100 range of IP addresses. That gets me access to the internet. I also have a network printer that has a static ip on my network that I set up on my laptop. When I am not on my network that printer is offline.

What printer are you connecting to? Is it a network printer or USB?

Depending on how your office set up your laptop, you might have some problems with permissions if they don't provide you with administrative rights.

thanks for your reply, At home- wired connection, Windows XP pro sp2 OS, Printer is in network
what i mainly want is how to add another local Windows user profile to be selected at bootup. i don't know how to do this, pl let me know.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > User Accounts > Create a New Account
