Dell Inspriron 6000 won't power on, Why?

I've had this laptop for some time now, and now it wont turn on. I bought a new charger and battery with no luck. The charger led would light green when i plug it into the outlet but when i connect it to the Laptop the light would turn off, even after unplugging the charger from the laptop the charger light remain off. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this problem or how to fix it?

The laptop does not respond at all when i try to start it, I believe it's a power issue.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000, but I've never had that problem. Check out this thread: Possible solutions for burnt-out circuitry on Dell Latitude D505 mobo? It has similar symptoms with a Dell D505.
