| Diagnosing system when you have no substitute componants to use......grrrr
Welp, I went ahead and built a new gaming pc with all the amenities and now its dead and unlike all my old stuff where I have all kinds of old parts to swap in, I dont have any extra high-end parts to sub. As in processor, memory, vid card...ect..ect. Now, aside from taking the damn thing to some stupid repair shop, what alternatives to I have to try and at least positively determine what the cause of the failure is? I do have good troubleshooting skillz but with no extra parts I feel pretty stuck......thanks
By the way, I did ROR the board and it came back from Asus as ok...

If you have two memory mods, pull each one and see if it helps

Hey, thanks for posting. It all powers up but the lcd poster on the back of the mobo displays the CPU-Init error followed by a Dram-det error and that is basically it. I have tried swapping the memory around, testing the power supply and other things. I had oc'd the e6600 a pretty good bit in the year that it was running but the temps never exceeded anything that warranted concern. I did notice some random shutdowns before the final nuthin but thats about it for symptoms. Since the mobo came back ok I am suspecting the processor. Whadaya'll think?.......tanks

I'm not sure what it could be. I would say the processor, but the DET-DRAM error is a RAM problem. Then again, the CPU could be causing problems for the RAM.
Are you able to enter the BIOS? |

Try booting the system with just processor, 1 stick ram, power supply and motherboard. Disconnect everything else. Post back here with results.
