Dell Inspiron 1525 Battery replacement

Hi,
my Dell 1525 is about 18 months old, the battery won't charge anymore, so I bought a new one / from Goodbattery.com. It looks exactly like the original battery and fits perfectly / but the Dell 1525 says 'cannot communicate with battery'

The Dell 1525 charger seem to function, because the 1525 works fine as long as I don't disconnect it from the charger...

Laptop batteries typically last about 1.5 years, so it's understandable that your original died. As far as your non-original replacement goes, it's probably defective or even fake. You get what you pay for. I would return that battery.

Keep in mind that lithium ion battery packs can overheat and explode/burn. The smart play is to get genuine Dell or get your battery from a reputable, known seller. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is.
