what application are you referring to?
"seems to have gone from my drop down menu"

what are you using to convert them?
Helicopters don't fly; they vibrate so much and make so much noise that the earth rejects them.

I have that problem if i am useing MSPaint, however I just now use MS Photo Editor which allows me to save as Jpeg. Take your screen shot or pic and then paste as new image.

Edit: Oops took to long to post that one. and didn't relize the problem was resolved.

    Hey Neostar.

If I remember correctly, Infranview does a better job of converting and creates a smaller file. I am not at home so i can't verify the last part.

I've been using ACDC (www.acdcsystems.com)-its shareware but if you don't register you can continue using it with a nag screen.

It is absolutely the best image viewer/convertor/organizer I have ever seen or used. Can't edit images though.

    Ok...here's what I did.

I took a small GIF and saved it in a PSD format.

I then opened Photoshop and saved it as a JPG - on the highest quality setting it was 8.69k

I then resaved the PSD to JPG on the lowest quality setting - 4.34k

I used Infranview to open the PSD file (it's really cool it will open these files) and saved it as a JPG - 1.83k.

From what I could tell there was no differance in the quality.

Keep in mind this wasn't a really high quality pic, I'll try that later.

Not bad for a free program.
