put disc on and cause system to shut

when i pop in my a cd on the drive tray..... sudden my system black out and shuts everything... no fan spinning no nothing. everything went off inlcuding video card ect... but the power led was still blinking although everything went quiet including psu.
i wasnt sure whats going on at first. then i think its caus eof the cd when i put it on.

so i tried to put in the cd again and it happend again.

why is this happend?


x2 4400. 3gb. 8800 gts 512mb. 400w psu ultra xconnect vs. vista 64bit.

If your power LED was blinking, it went into Standby/Sleep.

Does it do this with all CDs or just the one you're using?

If it's not a bad CD, it could be a failing power supply or a bad CD drive. They are cheap to buy, so consider changing to another CD drive.

the led is not blinking. it just solid light as if normal except everything went quiet and and shut down.

havent try to put in new cd yet see if it happend.

Dude, try to be more clear about what's happening.

Common sense dictates that you at least try a different CD before creating a thread here. Please don't reply until you do that.
