Data Recovery Software? Urgent Help Required!

I've been having issues with my Acomdata External Hard-Drive model # HD320UHE5-72. The problem that I am having is,

"When I power-up the hard-drive, it loads up but then instead of automatically loading up NOMAD, it brings me to a small screen that asks me 'IF' I want to activate NOMAD or not; but I do not see any option in that small window to click either yes or no. When I try to access the drive, it says 'not accessible/incorrect function'. Before, it was working perfectly fine with NOMAD loading up automatically n everything"

I contacted Acomdata technical support, they told me to format the drive but I do not know much abt 'data recovery' from a drive that still shows up in My Computer but wont let me access it..

Is there anyone who can help me figure out a proper software that would salvage my data out of this drive before I format it?

Indeed you should perform format on the hard drive , you also should know format will make file loss. Recuva is a greart free data recovery software for delete recovery indeed, but it seems clumsy when it is used for format recovery. Some commercial data recovery software are free, here Perfectsoft is also recommended by many users, there are several free comercial products, you could have a try.
