A friend of mine has a corrupt registry that prevents her computer from booting (or at least that is what Startup Repair is telling me).
I haven't tried safe mode, but it doesn't seem to give me that option after it first tries to boot the first time. It gets to the Windows side-scrolling bar in vista, but then it blue screens (and only a flash, it doesn't stop and let me look at the error, unfortunately).
So, is there a way to repair the registry, via either a bootable utility or via Dell's Reinstallation DVD, without losing all of the data, in case I can't get the data off of it?
Thanks for the help.
