how to connect acer aspire 5550 laptop to tv

Hi guys, I'm planning to connect my acer aspire 5550 laptop to my old crt tv as a second display. The laptop connection is using vga out and the tv only got rca connection. How am i gonna do it? Is it i need a vga to s-video converter + s-video to rca converter? What settings do i need on the laptop display option?

hi according to the model specs that laptop has an s-video out use that to connect to the tv if your tv does not have s-video you can buy an s-video to composite video adaptor from maplins

once you are connected you should be able to tell the laptop to extend on to the tv by right clicking anywhere on the desktop as if you where personalising the background etc
it wont give you the option to extend until connected as it woill not know the tv is there also connect the laptop to the tv with the laptop off then power up when connected
