Modular Bay Error

The device in the system modular bay cannot be identified. This is a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop. I beleive it's the CD/DVD drive because the icon is not showing up under devices or my computer, etc. How do I fix this?

If it's your DVD/CD drive, most likely it went out. You can buy a replacement cheap online.
Have you tried sticking a DVD/CD in the drive? Does it work?

I have tried to play a DVD and CD and nothing happens. It's like the cd rom does not exist.
