My printer will not turn on at all. I want to remove the print head but it is frozen on the right side where it normally park. How do I remove it? |

Welcome to TechIMO. You'll need to reply here with your printer make and model before anyone can help.

It's a Canon i560, Scott.
Bene, have you checked for all the obvious things? Power cord connected to printer and the wall outlet? Do you get any sort of warning light or sound of any sort? Perhaps the power button is worn and takes more pressure to switch on.

I have a Canon i560. The power cord works. Everything works on the printer except when I sent it to print it shows printer not on line. I know they are cheap to buy but I have so much ink on hand I will try & fix it my self before giving up. Some on line research suggests that the print head needs to be cleaned and that is why I'm trying to remove it. At this point I have nothing to loose because it won't receive power from the cord. |

No lights come on at all and I push the button really hard. Everything appears to be "dead" on the hardware. |

Sounds dead to me. Please see my links above for $40 replacement options. |

Have you tried a manual reset?
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Hold down the resume button and press the rower button.
3. Keep holding down both buttons, then release the resume button.
4. While still holding the power button, press the resume button twice, then release both buttons
5. The green lights should flash.
6. When the green lights quit flashing, press the resume button four times.
7. Now press the power button. The printer should turn off. It not, press the power button again.
8. Wait a few seconds, turn on the printer, and hopefully it will start working again.
