Internet Connection Timeout

Hi;
About a month or so ago I permitted Windows XP automatic updates to my laptop. Since then, my Internet connection times out after about 15 minutes of non-activity. I'm running the professional version of Windows XP connecting to a wireless router. Is there some setting that Windows Explorer has set for timeout and how can I turn i t off ? Has the Windows firewall possibly been turned on contributing to the problem? How can I tell if the windows firewall is on? I'm also using NOD32 anti-virus and Outpost Firewall.

1 post is enough, this is a volunteer sight and the people that know how to fix your problem, probably are not on right now.

To check windows firewall got to ( Start, control panel, Security center)

Check In "Device Manager". Go to your wireless device, and check out properties. There may be a setting under the power management tab that lets Windows shut it down to save power.

There may also be a setting, for always on.
