Error messages and some other annoyances
Hey well, in previous posts ive indicated that I have a very old PC...well not old but rather not so up to date.
anyways today i attempted to clean out start menu using a website to tell me what everything was and a tutorial to explain what to do...
well i found some backdoor trojans etc :S but i have an anti virus?? i know anti virus is like a condom and only a certain percentage effective but come on.... their sitting their in start up :S
how do i get rid of these?? if you need the names then let me know.
also although this error message is not a new thing this version indeed is;
I get an error on shut down or restart normally saying btdna.exe unable to close what is this?? how do i fix it? (well first it says its non responsive so trys to close it then cant so i have to manually press end task)
on this occasion i also got the same message but it was called KDX host window.
help?!?!
I went back to normal start up as after all this i panicked that id messed up somewhere along the line so yeah...assistance!

If you hold down the windows key and press 'r'
Then type in "msconfig" in the popup box and hit enter
go to the startup tab.
Here you can see some of the programs that are loaded at startup. Your virus could be loading here. Google the names of the programs and determine if you need them at startup or not. But only unckeck something if your sure that you dont need it.
btdna.exe is an bit torrent program used to download stuff. If its in your startup list, uncheck it. This should prevent it from hanging up the shutdown process unless its manually loaded. btdna is probablly the program using KDX Host to upload data as well. If you need to use torrents, use something else, if I were you Id uninstall btdna.
