It sounds like there's something wrong with the cooling fan. Open up the case and look at the fan when you turn on the computer. Don't be afraid to mess with the fan while it's running. |

The card needs a 6-pin Pci-e connector the ones for your dvd drives will either be 4-pin molex or sata conectors and will not work. Did you get a little 6-pin adapter with your card?

some reading around suggests your pc's power supply does not come equipped with 6 pin pcie dongle. there's also a suggestion that dell psu's are not the same size as non-dell psu's...(which if true is an absolute disgrace )
i've seen adapters online that will convert two 4 pin dongles to a 6 pin pcie....... but you don't appear to have two spare.
i'd say you're in need of a new psu and that you need to measure your current psu to be sure that your new one will fit in your case - if not then maybe dell can supply you with one that does. |

Did you buy the card new? Is your mobo making the sound, or is it actually coming from your speakers? If it's your speakers, you may have knocked your soundcard as you were replacing your gfx card. If it's your mobo, check your pci-e connector and fan as the people above said |
