I have a Compaq Presario. 2 GB ram, 80 GB hdd, Amd Turion 64 CPU, ATI Radeon Xpress 200m Video, running Windows 7 RC1. I was in the middle of playing a simple game, Age of Empires, and the computer just shut off on me on its own. When i went to press the power switch the power indicator would blink three times and nothing else. I tried reseating the ram, reseating the hdd. The laptop is about 3 years old, and ram well to begin with. The computer won't even turn on to perform the POST. Just little power indicator blinking three times.
Has anyone else had this issue? I am hoping it's just a dead battery, i was getting about an hour of use out of it, but i figured considering it's 3 years old that is normal. I didn' buy this new, it was used but a very good deal. If anyone can shed any light on the situation that would be great. Thanx,
Lucas
UPDATE: The problem has turned out to be the second so-dimm slot. After trying both sticks serperately in both slots I found the problem. Now the problem is finding a 2GB DDR 333mhz stick.
