| Does name brand PC CASE worth it? Another "does name brand..." question.
I recently purchased a case (from Nikao, Zeus model) from Newegg.com (great company!). The pictures of the case looked great on all the sites that sells them. However, when I received it, it didn't look as good and the quality is sub-par. I was disappointed. I decide I'll return it. Thanks to Newegg they waived the restocking fee this time; however, I still have to pay the S&H which is fair. So basically, I spent $30 to look at the case.
I am hesitate to buy any heavy over the net cause the return shipping cost, the trouble of returning it, and the worry if it will get there in original condition.
Intention: to get a case that looks cool and can last >5yrs.
Questions:
1) Does name brand PC case worth the extra $$$?
2) If yes, what brands are good?
3) Are these good brands?
Lian-Li
Antec
Thanks again! |

In terms of computer cases, you get what you paid for. The higher the cost, the better the quality of the steel/aluminum, finishing, and power supply.
But...I look to save a few bucks so I am willing to put up with a no name or generic case and deal with harddrive cages that are difficult to mount or flimsy port covers. It doesn't affect how my machine works but still looks good. Lian-Li and Antec are the high end. It's best to check out the cases in person like at a computer show and then decide if you like it. I'm comfortable with purchasing refurbished or OEM components since I've worked with so many that are same as the name brand. |

| xuser Go to the computer shows in Oakland/SF to buy a case. They have them galore there in every price range from $19.95-$450!
You can decide what you need. I have a $19.95 case that has served me faithfully for years. I also have a better heavy duty case that works good, too!
Better cases and better power supplies are quieter.
